I wanted to see if Dexter would fit in the backpack that I use when I ride my bike to work. Whaddaya know, he DOES fit.

March. Ocean Beach in San Francisco. Actually we were there for Jenny Justis' birthday BBQ that her boyfriend, Anthony, had set up. It wasn't as cold as it looks. Well, maybe the water was cold.

Pictures can never capture how prominent Dexter's dimples are. Well, at least we try to take pictures of his dimples.

One of these is not like the other. Let's see, three babies, two with blue eyes, one with brown eyes. Which one stands out? Actually, Blake (on Dexter's left) and Amelia (on Dexter's right) came to visit ; Blake and Amelia are friends from Novato. They all had a playdate this past week and play sas done at this date.

Uh-oh, check out who made it on to the top of Stephen Colbert's "On Notice" list. This isn't a good thing.

Seems as though the Easter bunny is coming early this year. Looks like this particular model sells for $12.99. We had to act fast to get these little things since they are just flying off the shelves.

I'm trying new ways of taking pictures. Here's my try at doing black and white.

One last picture is of Suzie and Dexter having a sushi lunch. Cute!

Oh geez, there's been reports of a naked baby around Alameda. Just so happened that we had the security cameras rolling and lo and behold, we caught this image.

Officer Hogan was dispatched to investigate the strange occurrences of the naked Alameda baby and took Dexter in for questioning. Dexter was perplexed by this line of questions and requested the presence of his attorney before answering. At this point, his mother, acting as his attorney, pleaded insanity on his behalf. Case closed.

Shirt speaks for itself. It should actually say, 1/2 Pinoy. Or "Rice Cracka".

The weather's been nice and mild up here. Took a trip out to a farm (yes a farm) in Berkeley. Here's the Dexican checking out a cow.

Billie and her parents met up with us. I asked Billie and Dexter to pose, but Dexter seemed more inclined with the mechanical workings of his stroller.

What? We're gonna do a dog pile on who?

On my signal, unleash a dog pile on Suzie!

All right everyone, that's it for now. Here's me and Dexalotapus with our baseball caps on. See you later!

Baseball season is right around the corner. Dexter can smell hot dogs, cracker jacks, beer and pretzels. Oh wait, that's me. We got him a baseball cap on a whim. I really didn't realize that it was possible that our little guy could get any cuter, but I'm glad I'm proven wrong.

Dexter loves to drink water out of cups/glasses nowadays. Not a silly baby sippy cup, but grown up glasses. He loves to drink and then say, "ahhhhhhhhhhh...refreshing". Ok, maybe he doesn't say "refreshing", but he does say, "ahhhhhhh".

Suzie and Dexter took the Alameda ferry to have lunch with me in the City to brighten up my day. Suzie was able to capture the ride with Dexter. I think it's a neat video cause of the water moving in the background and Dexter's expression

During lunch, one of San Francisco's finest stopped by to grab a bite to eat at the same restaurant that we were at. Dexter felt the compulsion to imitate San Francisco's own "Dirty Harry" and jump in the black and white cruiser and apprehend some criminals. But alas, the officer came out and stopped the Dexican before he could drive off. Dexter did, however, get this neat picture with him and the officer made him a junior police officer...he even gave him a badge!

Dexter tends to fixate on things. Things such as his high chair, his piano, mom's keys, spoons, the shower curtain; the usual stuff. We brought his stroller inside the house the other day and he was fascinated with it. Fascinated to the point where he talked about eating it.

Apparently Dexter is tired of hearing his old man spout off about how he hates working and how, if it weren't for Dexter, he'd be a millionaire already. Our little Dexatrim is living the American Dream at the ripe old age of 10 1/2 months; he's opening up his own shop. It's a General Store, as you can see, but he's not sure what he'll be selling...yet. He talks to us about it in rich detail, but we have yet to figure out what he's saying. And if this doesn't pan out to make him rich, he'll just sue WalMart.

Dexter is also getting tired of being pushed around by the same two people, Suzie and me. So he duped Eli (his drinking buddy) into pushing him around. Please note, there was no drinking involved whatsoever prior to this little spin.

And the subsequent video of said Eli chauffeuring around Sir Dex-a-lot.

It's been a very busy weekend for Dexter. He had his weekend fully booked. That's out of the ordinary since most of the time he just does as he pleases; eats, sleeps , cries, poops, laughs...you know, the usual. We took plenty (and I mean PLENTY) of pictures. We take a lot of pictures and only a few actually make it onto the blog. I like to think I put up the best ones, but then again, I'm usually not in most of them. Is there some correlation to that? Hmph.

My family was in town for one more day and they came to visit and take us out for brunch. Before we left the house, Dexter did a little posing in front of the house. Dexatrim with Lola (my mom, Dexter's Grandmother).

The concept of a favorite photo is constantly changing for me. Actually, I have a lot of favorite pictures, so I'm not changing my favorite pictures, I'm actually just adding to them. I absolutely adore the pictures that include smiling pictures of Dexter. Why? Well, it's hard to actually capture him in a smile (one day I'll have a digital SLR), but when I do catch him smiling, it makes me happy. This one of my dad (Lolo) and Dexter makes me happy.

This is my immediate family. My parents along with my two older brothers, CJ and Victor are shown here. Again, many pictures taken, but this one was the best and oddly enough, it's the one where I'm not smiling. Go figure.

Dexter with Suzie, my parents and me. I tried to smile, I really did!

At brunch. I thought Dexter's expression was pretty funny.

Later on in the afternoon, we went to a gathering of my old co-workers from PathetiCare, er, I mean PacifiCare. Oh, those were the glory days. It just occurred to me that it's been over 12 years (1995) since I moved from Los Angeles to San Francisco. Most of the folks I met at PacifiCare turned out to be my first good friends, I'd go so far as say they're extended family. Here's Connie. Connie used to sit across the aisle from me and has plenty of funny stories about me. Popcorn, shoes with holes in them...I'll have to keep those to myself!

One of the first folks I met was Rob. He too moved to San Francisco from somewhere else (Arkansas!). I figured since we dressed in the same style suit most of the time we worked together (funny story, but if you want to know, e-mail me). Rob is also Dexter's godfather.

Group shot of the PacifiCare alumni (lovingly referred to as the Outbound Crew) along with family. The other baby being held by Brian is John Patrick. I worked with his mommy, Winnie (top left).

And one last one with Suzie in the picture. Great time was had by all!

Lots of surprises the past few days. But this isn't a surprise. It's a video of the Dexican during one of his baths.

What's that sly little look on his face? This afternoon, March 1, Dexter got some exciting news. He already knew he was going to have a cousin, but he didn't know if they were going to be a boy or a girl. The exciting news is that Katie and John Coleman are going to have a little....GIRL! Hooray for nieces (and cousins)!

More surprises. Victoria, Carlos (Lola and Lolo, respectively) and Uncle Victor made a last minute visit to the Bay Area. Here's Lola with Dexter.

Lolo with Dexter. Dexter is absolutely fascinated with his Lolo. Dexter loves to play his piano for him.

Uncle Victor posing with the Dexican. Dexter appreciates the family visiting cause it means more holding and cuddling time!
