I've been saying for years (decades, maybe?), that I've always wanted a Boston Terrier dog. I have always loved the look of a Boston and I love their sunny disposition. A few years ago, Suzie and I almost adopted one of these little guys. But it just wasn't the right time. My rat terrier, Kirby, was a good little dog, but she was so nervous/neurotic, it was hard to tell how she would be with children. It was a very difficult decision for me to let her go and a part of me is regretful for letting her go. I think that I've had time to think about it now that we're a few years older. After watching Dexter grow with us, we've decided that the time is right for a little Boston Terrier to join our happy family. Let me introduce you to Buckaroo, who will be joining us February 28. Oh, and guess what? He was born on January 1, 2009.
What absolutely blows my mind is how well Dexter gets along with animals. I'm not just talking about Vlad (who he loves and respects), but the way he carries himself with friends' dogs or even the way he handles his way around zoos. He never screams or yells or is frightened (as long as we're with him) by animals. Dexter just is a natural guy who takes to animals.
Oh, and let me be perfectly honest: I WANTED THIS DOG.
And here are Buckaroo's parents. The red Boston Terrier is his father, Jethro. The brindle Boston Terrier is his mother, Cuddles.
